The Easy Read Company was set up because we strongly believe that people with learning disabilities are ‘experts by experience’ when it comes to creating Easy Read materials. We also believe that more people with learning disabilities and/or on the autism spectrum could be gaining the benefits of employment given the opportunity.
The Easy Read Company founder Toni Edwards has over 19 years experience working with people with learning disabilities and on the autism spectrum. Her roles include advising and supporting organisations to make reasonable adjustments to meet the needs of people with learning disabilities. She has worked within the NHS, local authority and third sector. Toni is also an experienced graphic designer and has been creating easy to understand materials for over 10 years.
